Product Review: The Plaid Horse
The Plaid Horse has a special place in my heart because it's the first advertising placement for AdultAmmyStrong. So when I was approached to do a review of some of TPH's apparel, I was thrilled to do so.
The Plaid Horse Sweatshirt
First off, let me say OH MY!
This sweatshirt is amazing! The description on The Plaid Horse website states 'the softest, most luxurious sweatshirt you will ever have the pleasure of wearing' and it backs up that claim! It's super soft and comfortable like an old sweatshirts you've had for years.
The fit is perfect -- just enough slouch to be comfortable and stylish, but not baggy. I would size down though. The arms have great cuffs that allow me plenty of room to pull the sleeves half way up my arms and will stay there and doesn't lose their shape when I bring them back down. I do that with ALL long sleeve shirts so I really appreciate that.
I wore it to a horse show to keep my show shirt clean and because 5 a.m horse show mornings in November can be chilly, even in Florida! It was comfortable and kept me warm, but not too hot while doing my morning work - unwrapping, grooming, cleaning the stall and lunging. I never felt constricted or that my movement was impaired while wearing the sweatshirt and riding or doing barn chores.
The sweatshirt retails for $65, comes in sizes XS-XL and can be bought online at ThePlaidHorse.com
The Plaid Horse Unisex Tee - Merlot
Again, this tee is SUPER comfortable. It pairs perfectly with breeches for a day at the barn or with jeans/shorts for a day of running errands or relaxing around the house.
The material is soft and light, however I did find it to run quite large. After speaking with Piper Klemm of The Plaid Horse, she suggested I size down since it was a unisex shirt. The first time I put it on it swallowed me! I washed and dried it and it is still quite big on me. I'd suggest maybe sizing down two if you like a little bit of a tailored fit. If you like your shirts on the roomier side, than sizing down one would work well.
The color of the shirt -- merlot -- is to die for! The rich burgundy color keeps well after washings and wearing in the Florida sun. Plus, any adult amateur would love to wear something in a color named after a wine...cause we all know wine is a must for all adult amateurs.
The tee retails for $35, comes in XS-XL (but like I mentioned is unisex so think about how you want your shirt to fit!) and is available online at ThePlaidHorse.com.
