KJ Creations is one of the small, adult amateur equestrian-owned businesses I've had the pleasure of coming across in this adventure that is AdultAmmyStrong. Kristina (or better known as KJ) is an adult amateur equestrian that is craftier than I will ever be and sells her amazing handmade products from leather cleaner, horse treats, monograms & decals to apothecary items like lip balm and face masks. I've had the pleasure to use the tack cleaner, lip balm and face mask and I love them! Read more about my experience with KJ Creation products. Organic Lip Balm - Summer SurfI'm a big fan of lip balms, chap sticks, whatever you want to call them I'm addicted. I've tried Burt's Bees, Rodan + Fields, ChapStick, and many others, but what I LOVE about KJ's lip balm is how long lasting it was. I put it on in the morning and even after multiple cups of coffee, a morning at the barn and and an afternoon outside with the dogs I felt like my lips were still protected. No, it wasn't like I had just applied it, but I still felt it on my lips, and that's a BIG plus in my books! Being organic is important to me as well. Knowing there are only seven ingredients in the lip balm - all of which I can pronounce! - is a good feeling. Each lip balm contains Soybean Oil, Sunflower Oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, and Aloe Vera. The other thing I love is the scent! Summer Surf is a mix of passion fruit and coconut and is very beachy. Perfect for me being a Florida girl who is OH SO READY for some beach weather! I live in FL cause I don't like the cold, so choosing the Summer Surf scent was a no brainer! There are three other scents currently available with more on the way!
Tack Cleaner - Schooling RoundI've been cleaning tack for years as I'm sure we all have. It's something we do to ensure the longevity of our tack which can be one of the biggest purchases in our equestrian careers, aside from our horses. Our tack deserves a high-quality cleaner that won't degrade the leather or stitching, or create issues with the metal buckles. KJ's tack cleaner is made of castile & glycerin to clean the sweat and grime with a hint of natural oils helping to restore the moisture that leather needs to stay soft. Each scent has an anti-fugal property that aids in the protection against mold if you're in a more humid climates - hello Florida - or if your tack is kept in a non-climate controlled area. The 4 oz. size is very portable; easily keep it in your bag or tack trunk. Despite it's small size a little goes along way, so don't overdo it when applying to your tack. I wet a small tack sponge as seen in the photo to get a decent lather and rubbed into the leather. I used little circles, but you could use whatever method you prefer. Then I used a damp cloth to wipe the cleaner off my saddle. I didn't rub ridiculously hard, but with enough pressure, and could see the dirt lifting off my saddle onto the damp cloth. I clean my tack on a regular basis, but I was surprised to see all the grime that was removed using this cleaner. The leather is supple and soft and smells fresh. Speaking of smells... Let's face it, cleaning supplies often smell...well, harsh. The Schooling Round tack cleaner is infused with lemon eucalyptus and gives off a fresh scent I love! Not only do I know my tack is clean because of all the cleansing properties, but it smells fresh! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new tack cleaner. For the price point, and how long I know this will last, it can't be beat! Organic Clay Facial Mask - Wrinkle Redux
I applied a thin layer of the mask on my face and let it dry for about 15 minutes or so, but I didn't time it exactly. I put it on my face then went about doing house work while my dogs looked at me trying to figure out who I was....kind of glad my husband wasn't home to see that! Although I may try to get him to use it and see what he thinks; we'll see how that goes! Anyway - the mask wasn't too heavy on my face weighing it down. I could feel it tightening as it dried. After it was completely dry, I rinsed it off in warm water. It was quite nice to put the warm water on my face with the dried mask - everyone loves a spa day! It came off easily, not getting stuck in my eyebrows or anything, and then I patted my face dry with a soft towel. I felt rejuvenated and ready to conquer the world. Ok, maybe not the world, but definitely the rest of the errands I had that day. This is a 4 oz. size is perfect - not too big where you'll have it for a l-o-n-g time and it'll dry out, but not small enough to only get one or two uses out of. I don't know if I'd recommend using this too often, but I think I'll use it once every few weeks. I can tell that I will be getting many uses out of this little tub! If I get about eight treatments out of this 4 oz. tub, that's about $3.15 per treatment - better than any spa or salon!
