As the year is coming to a close and we begin anew, I can't help but think about all that's changed in the last year, and even in the last three years.
As a military family we live our lives three years at a time. We live what many would call a nomadic lifestyle. Every three years, at minimum, we uproot our entire lives and move somewhere new. We do what we can to call each new city 'home.' Find a new barn and make new friends after leaving behind friends who have become family. Some duty stations fly by, like our time in Florida, while others may truly feel like y-e-a-r-s.
2020 marks our third year in Virginia and, with all that's happened, in hindsight it has flown by!
Here's a highlight of some of the big things that've happened in the past three years:
I'm sure I'm missing a few things, but those are all the big life items I can think of.
Navy wife life being what it is, we were dealt a hand many would consider a major life change but to us, is the 'norm.'
We will be packing up (again) and moving our family across the country to San Diego, California.
Right now the plan is to head back to Florida for a month early this summer and be settled in San Diego by mid summer. It seems like a daunting task, but somehow we've always made it work and called each new place 'home.'
There's other news as well that I can't quite divulge, but will when the time is right.
So for now, my lease on Stella has ended and I'll be riding here and there when I can. While I'm sad my time with Stella has come to an end I am so glad she was apart of my riding career. I am thankful to all who have helped us along the way
Cheers to a new year and all the adventures that await!
