About #AdultAmmyStrong
#AdultAmmyStrong was founded in September 2015 based off the trials, tribulations and successes (yay!) I had getting back in the saddle after a decade-long absence from the sport.
We must all overcome challenges that being an amateur equestrian presents, but we need to remember why we ride. Yes, the ribbons are great, but we can't let these wins and results dictate our happiness. We've chosen to be a part of this unique and amazing sport. We devote time and money to these fantastic creatures because it's a fun and exciting adventure and we need to make sure to remind ourselves of that when times get tough. For working adult amateurs, riding should be a way to escape for a little while, and a way to truly let go of some of life's stressors and enjoy time with our equine partners. I started riding at age seven and like most young girls was completely horse crazy. I was the epitome of a barn rat and wouldn't have it any other way. Read more about my journey from pony hunters to #AdultAmmyStrong to get to know me a little bit more as well as my passion for everything equestrian. Here are five things I learned getting back in the saddle as an adult amateur. I look forward to hearing your views about the adult ammy life. If you want to be a guest blogger, contact me - I'm always looking for new perspectives or challenges of the #adultammylife! Happy riding, |
