Erica Koch is an adult amateur rider in the New England area. She has a Westphalian Thoroughbred cross gelding, Rheingold Z, and they both enjoy competing in the hunter derbies. She is an equine veterinarian and owns her own practice, Wentworth Equine Veterinary Services.
Erica grew up in Rhode Island where she started her horse addiction at the young age of 6, taking lessons at a local horse farm. She continued riding and competing as a junior and throughout college in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. After college she decided to pursue a carrier in veterinary medicine and took a long hiatus from riding. Her career choices have taken her to a number of different states and countries, even life in Prince Edward Island, Canada working at a veterinary school as an Assistant Professor. It was in Canada where she decided to get back in the saddle and purchased her current horse. These veterinary work experiences prepared her to start her own business in 2015. Erica now enjoys a work-life balance and is able to devote a little more time to her own riding goals.
