When we're kids we think, 'when I'm an adult I can do WHATEVER I want...'
And I guess that's true...to an extent. I am a BIG planner. I plan out my goals for a horse show season, I plan meals for the week, I plan out finances for the month to include horse shows, board, and other non-equestrian bills. *yuck* No matter how well I plan, there will inevitably be things that happen to force me to reconsider or restructure my plans. That's life...

There are SO many equestrian products and brands out there. The market is saturated with products with a variety of features, claims and price points.
Here are a few of my favorite equestrian brands...in no particular order and I'm sure there are many more I can't think of at the moment! Today is a special day. Today marks the anniversary of the creation of such an amazing platform that has helped inspire, connect and support the adult amateur equestrian community. From the start where I was horseless, to horse shopping and my first days with Wow, his health issues & rehoming him, to moving, leasing and riding confidently again, you've all experienced this journey with me and I can't imagine it any other way! I’ve spent the better part of this past year reflecting on my horse life. I’ve started, deleted, and restarted this blog post countless times before settling on exactly what it is I have to write about. A lot has happened over the past year culminating with a cross-country move this past February. I grew up just outside Seattle and left for the East Coast 15 years ago when I went to college. I think the horses are what kept me in Virginia so long. By: Guest Blogger Lynn Del Vecchio
It’s 7 p.m. after a long, sweaty day of horse showing on a Sunday, and I’m exhausted and sunburnt. The horses still need to go home and be taken care of. With a 6 a.m. alarm set for work the next morning and a handful of ribbons and an empty wallet to show for my efforts, I ask myself… why do I do this? My former trainer and present good friend wisely said when I loaded the first of five on the trailer, “Welcome to the caring for horses club. You will either love it or hate it.” Whether you are boarding or dedicated to keeping them on site, we all have to admit to day dreaming about what life is like on the other side. I thought I would take a moment and break down the key elements what is coming up on a year of having some combination of my 5 equine friends at home for those of you with a suspicion that this might be the life for you. by Ambassador Amy Bieber Whenever we start to get annoyed with our horses during lessons or show days, my trainer takes a deep breath and tells us to “go down to CVS and pick up a big bag of patience” and then try again. It’s a nice sentiment, but at some point the frustration spirals so far that “a big bag of patience” is not going to cut it anymore. By: Cristin Bertolino
Equine Liability has been built up to be this big, dreaded, daunting task, and in reality, it’s not. We’re here to break it down and help you through, so you can get back in the tack with one less worry on your mind. Here’s a brief over view of products offered and which ones might be a good fit for you. Walk around any horse show and you're sure to find some adult beverages, be it beer, champagne (I mean who doesn't love a horse show mimosa!?) or my favorite, wine.
With the summer comes horse show season and eventually the long hot days waking up before the sun and finishing after its set. Perusing Facebook I saw this amazing, heavenly treat and immediately thought of summer horse shows.... Tack trunks. We need them. We use them. And sometimes abuse them.
We personalize them with name plates and order covers in our barn's colors with a monogram or last name. Many friends have photos along with back numbers from special shows or classes tacked up on the inside of their trunk lids. I didn't want to put a push pin or tape directly in the top of my trunk lid (gives me anxiety just thinking about it!) so I came up with a solution! |
